Hiatus from Blogging

Hi junkies. Had a really hectic year. I was busy doing a lot of markets I couldn't even get the time to do a quick blog post. Just to let you know what I've been up to, I'm still selling vintage/retro items and doing stock uploads once a month, but now focusing more on looking for a full-time job. I don't get to source items like I used to and I miss it so much. I love the feeling of having new "old" items and mixing it with either new items or what I already have in my closet. I have decided to pursue a career in fashion/retail and that's my goal for this year. Hopefully, the universe will conspire to help me realize my dreams. I just want to start living the life that I've always wanted. Even if I get "the job", I would still be here for vintage junkies like you. I would still be sharing my passion for vintage and retro fashion.

Mr Price - Project by Cleo Droomer

The peplum trend is one of the hottest trends right now and was everywhere on the catwalk. This trend is flattering on all shapes and  I am currently loving it. So can you imagine my excitement when I found out that Cleo Droomer created some fabulous peplum skirts and dresses for Mr Price Project Limited Editions? I purchased the skirt right away from Mr Price's online shop and got it just in time for Eid Al Adha. I often mix more modern or vintage-inspired pieces with vintage, so I paired the skirt with a black sheer vintage longsleeves shirt, toe cap heels and a neon statement necklace. I've noticed that Mr Price is taking their jewellery collection to the next level. I am so impressed with it that I now have 5 statement necklaces from them. I love that Mr Price is always keeping up with the latest trends. Now, everybody can shop for less :)

Almost everybody in South Africa went gaga when Mr Price launched their online shop, even I couldn't help but check it out. It was all over the blogosphere for a whole week. Online shopping is one of my addiction and I'm glad I've got a new addition to my list of favorite shops. The website is impressive and the range that they have is totally to-die-for. It is so easy to navigate and fun to browse through. I ordered 6 items from them and was able to track the status of my order online. I got a necklace, crop top, patterned skinnies, acid-wash leggings and 2 pairs of shoes. I am very happy with my purchase and will definitely use the online shop to buy more goodies to match my vintage threads again.

Vintage Wednesdays - Launch

The Return of the Peplum

Peplum is back yet again. It was a major trend in the 50s and then the 80s and now seen again on the runway.  The peplum is an overskirt or ruffle that flares out at the waistline of a skirt, dress or top. It is super flattering and gives you an instant ladylike curves.

Detachable Collars

I've been looking for detachable collars since last year but couldn't find any here in Cape Town. So I have finally decided to do a project with Lucy of The Alteration Lady to make the fashionable ladies of South Africa happy. I have always admired how vintage junkies wear them.
